This little chilli is one of the hottest in the world at around 425,000 Scoville units. This lantern shaped chilli matures from green to chocolate brown.
The Habanero Chocolate chilli pods measures 3.5cm - 6cm long, 2.5cm - 5cm wide and have a thin waxy skin. The plant grows to 80cm tall but does take longer than others to mature, so best to plant early. It will however continue to fruit later (until December in our polytunnel this year).
This is a real chilli experts chilli with a rich fruity/smoky flavour.
In Spanish it means 'the one from Havana' and although it was traded from there it originated from Yucatan in Mexico and is also known as Congo Black.
